OUR
HISTORY
In
October 19th 1969 some neighbors from the outskirts of Bahía Blanca
gathered in order to meet.
the needs of the neighborhood.
The meeting took place in a shed located at 1800 Zelarrayán St. In this meeting Centro Comunitario San Roque
was founded,
and it still goes
on as a nonpolitical social unit
which is
open to all religions.
At that time there were no financial resources but there was indomitable FAITH, IMAGINATION, and WILLPOWER to work together
As
years went by, a variety of
services and activities
were carried out.
Among them we can list the procedures
for land regularization, the support to the young,
the literacy of adult’s,
the construction of different facilities, the distribution of clothes
and even the construction o a housing plan.
Thus, the headquarter, the children’s
house, the nursery, the working-training school,
the recreation ground and a
room for special purposes were built.
The
Legal Capacity (n. III 11938/71) was obtained as a National and Municipal (n.53)
Welfare Institution.
